Frog Addicts Newsletter Vol 5 - May 2018

Welcome to the 4th edition of the Frog Addicts Newsletter. Each month we will be reviewing up to the minute frog and bass fishing related news plus recapping the previous months "Best Of" when it comes to social media, frog videos and more.. Here is what's happening in the world of frog fishing.

Frog NEWS and Baits Hitting the Shelves

Afer a couple of quiet months it was nice to have some new frog info land in our laps, now if only these baits had scheduled release dates!

WESTIN LURE - Letting the Frog out of the Bag

Fishing Tackle Retailer Magazine released an article (HERE) in early May giving European anglers a sneak peak at two new baits from Scandinavian lure maker Westin. Known here in north America mostly for their swim-baits Westin is breaking into the frog market via a hard bodies wake bait along side a hollow body bait


Freddy the Frog Wake Bait (seen above) is a hard bodied frog that comes in at 7.25" and weights 1 5/8's ounces. This is not your average wake bait. Sure many die hard frog fisherman will argue that this isn't a traditional frog bait, but if it looks like a frog and swims like a frog... I'll review it as a frog

The Westin Swim Hollow body is another bait that wont fall squarely in the frog category because, well just look at it, its a fish. With that said many major manufactures are making hollow body shads, sunfish and much more, so who am I to judge.

the Swim Hollow body is designed to be walked like a traditional Hollow body frog, but if you want to be more aggressive you can get it to walk subsurface. It is a single silicone skirt and a double hook that sits back on the bait for increased hook-up ratios.

Cant wait to see these baits in person when they make their way to ICAST 2018.

TECKEL MARACKER

Teckel has been teasing the release of a new bait since late last month. Up until now there has been slim to no info being shared about the bait, so it was nice to finally put and name and face to this new frog - "The Maracker" - to see it in action scroll on down and check out the video section of the newsletter.

At this time no release date is available
