Frog Fishing Quick Tips - Fred Roumbanis

Frog Fishing Quick Tips is a Instagram tie in feature in which we personally reach out to respected anglers at all  levels and ask them 7 quick frog fishing related questions. It's time to get personal

This Months Angler is.....

Fred Roumbanis

Fred Roumbanis, also known as “Boom Boom” or “Swimbait Fred”, has fished  both the BassMaster and  FLW Tours. Like his nickname suggests, one of Roumbanis’ favorite techniques is throwing giant swimbaits or frogs. Roumbanis’s heaviest bag weighed on FLW scales measured in at an astonishing 34 pounds and 5 ounces. This big bag was accomplished on Lake Okeechobee in 2011. When not fishing competitively, Roumbanis can be found fishing for fun with his friends or listening to music, or helping to design new baits.

Fred recently paired with Stanford Baits to release the all new Boom Boom frog which hit the shelves earlier this month.

This week we take a look at the Molix Supernato Beetle . Not exactly a new bait, and not exactly a frog, I have been avoiding the Supernato Beetle for a few seasons, but its time has come!

Product Description

Incredibly versatile, the Molix Supernato Beetle can be worked at any retrieve speed to produce a steady paddle and a noticeable splash. Just as deadly with a walk and a pop, the cupped-mouth of the Molix Supernato Beetle can be used to generate a heavy spitting lunge.

Super-soft and collapsible, the Molix Supernato Beetle features a razor-sharp double hook that produces rock-solid hook-ups and allows it to move over heavy slop and snaggy vegetation with ease. Offered in a number of bass-catching colors, the Molix Supernato Beetle delivers a highly individualized action and a unique look that is unlike anything else on the market.

Frog Addicts Newsletter Vol 2

Welcome to the 2nd edition of the Frog Addicts Newsletter. Each month we will be reviewing up to the minute frog and bass fishing related news plus recapping the previous months "Best Of" when it comes to social media, frog videos and more.. Here is what's happening in the world of frog fishing.

Hitting the Shelves

Feb is notoriously a slow month when it comes to new products hitting the shelves and 2018 is no different.

Newly released and available direct, the Blitz Buzz Phrog is a unique mix of the Snag Proof Kicker frog and the classic Tru Tungsten Mad Maxx. Built for steady retrieves over sparse to medium cover the Buzz Phrog should seriously churn some water. - Available Now!

Speaking of Churning water Booyah Baits mad a splash this month when they re-released the Teckel Sprinker frog, only they called it the Toad Runner (a much cooler sounding name). This frog stirs up mixed emotions in me, as I have previously been a big fan of Booyah's Pad Crasher both on the water and in my wallet. Lets see of the Toad Runner can offer up something new and prove its not just a copy cay - Available Spring 2018

Instagram user @hideki_maeda let slip an image of a potential new frog from Teckel Lures. The image was simply captioned "Got Cup" check out this link for an up-close look at a potential new Teckel Frog. We'll keep our eyes open for more info from Teckel. - Availability Unknown ???

UPDATE: Check out the below video section for an update on this news item. Hideki reached out to us to let us know that the frog in the image is just a home made popper, he followed up with a video how-to shared below. On a positive note he mentioned that he is working on a couple new frogs as we speak.

Rounding out the Feb Frog news is a new release from Live Target Lures. You may  have noticed this bait kicking around the Tackle Warehouse site the past few weeks but it is now officially in stock and listed in the new product section. This is a very interesting new bait with a new take on a traditional popper mouth. Designed in conjunction with angler Scott Martin this is live targets first foray into "Signature Series" baits. - Available Now!

Frog Addicts Unboxing Review - Booyah Toad Runner Frog

Welcome to Frog Addicts Unboxing reviews.  Here you will get an up close and personal  look at at BassJunkies initial thoughts on each new frog fresh out of the package and long befor it hits the water. You cant always judge a book by its cover, or a frog from its packaging.

No rehearsals, no scripts,  but maybe a few edits.

This week we take a look at the Booyah Baits Toad Runner. This frog quickly made a splash earlier this month when Booyah teased it in a series of Instagram images and videos. It hit the shelves quickly so here is a short unboxing review.

Product Description

Delivering a loud topwater buzzing action that leaves all other frogs in its wake, the Booyah Toad Runner Frog elicits bone-jarring strikes that are not for the faint of heart. It is built around a modified Booyah Pad Crasher body with added side rails to help the Toad Runner plane more easily and stay upright. A 360-degree rotating tail creates a plopping sound and hard churning action that fish cannot resist.

It also includes a molded-in wire, which allows you to bend the tail to change the action and sound of the tail for different conditions. Precisely sized silicone legs balance and stabilize the Toad Runner during the retrieve, while also providing a lifelike appearance and motion when paused. Complete with a razor sharp double frog hook, the Booyah Toad Runner Frog will add a new element to your frog fishing arsenal.

Weight: 7/8oz
Length: 4.5"
